Technology makes us lose most of our traditions and culture.

 Technology is pretty common all around the world nowadays. But is it ruining our traditions and cultures? Is technology forcing people to lose their traditions and culture?

I think it is not ruining nor making people lose their traditions and culture. Technologies can distract people from their traditions and culture, but they can also be used to store all these pieces of information. If a tradition is not practiced for a long time, it could be forgotten unless it is stored in a book. But those books can also be burned or destroyed. But unless the internet comes to an end, the information about the tradition will be stored safely. Objects used in these traditions can be easily prepared using technology and online shopping. For example, lacrosse is a famous team sport originating from Cherokee and other Native American tribes. In the 1800s, Native Americans would make their stick, which was time-consuming and expensive. It also required great skill in crafting, which most people did not have time to invest in. Therefore, the sticks were highly valuable and were often treated as prized possessions. But nowadays, people can just order lacrosse sticks on Amazon or other online shopping websites for only $35. This just shows how easy, time-saving, and affordable technology have made practicing traditions and cultures. But technology also does distract people from doing these traditions. But something like a family reunion or Christmas is not going to cancel because a nephew wants to spend more time on his Ipad. Technology also helps people meet online when they can't travel due to some reasons like a pandemic or financial issues. Technologies like Zoom and google meet can substitute for meeting in real life. This also makes it easier to practice their own culture and traditions. Technologies also don't make people give up their culture and traditions. It may force it to adapt and change a little bit, but it won't change the whole meaning or ruin it. Therefore, technology will make a tradition and culture easier to practice and make it better.
