Was life better when there weren't any social media? Well, do you think life was better when technology was more simple?
Well, I think that life is better when technology was more complex. When technology didn't exist, people might not have had anyone to talk to in times like the pandemic. People could easily talk to therapists, doctors, professors, and other professionals. It became way easy to connect with other people, this would help people increase the quality of their life. People can also easily have a second job online. This provides them with more income which they can use to entertain themselves. People can also entertain themselves online unlike back in the days when you would have to visit a local theater or a circus. Those videos are all easily accessible for free online nowadays. This would make people's lives way b better. But technologies are not only online and websites. Medical improvement saved billions of lives and increased the world population by 8 times. Complicated technology also made a lot of discoveries. For example, after the space race between the United States of America and the U.S.S.R., the Soviet Union discovered a lot about space. Technology like chatting apps made it easier for people to stay connected with distant families, friends, and co-workers. Technologies also made it easier for people to learn. There is more information on the Internet than there has been in any library. Just searching up a simple topic can give you thousands of useful results. The Internet also saves a lot of time for people. Without going to a library, people can now browse for information for researching or borrowing With this saved time, people can do somethings like entertaining themselves, doing their hobbies or doing something else productive.
But technology did make life worse and simple technology was better. Depression and other mental illnesses have increased a lot since technology has become developed. People have more to worry about than they used to.
