Have you ever tried researching using only books and dictionaries without using any internet or electronics? If so, was it hard or easy? If you think it was hard, has the internet made research more accessible and more convenient?
I think the internet has made research more accessible and more convenient. Without the Internet, a person would have to go to a nearby library or bookstore to borrow or buy some books. There also could be a chance that some topics could be not included. For example, when researching how to play checkers, there may not a lot of books available. But just by searching in Google, "Checkers" they could get over 2,990,000,000 results. This just shows how easy it is to research on the internet. Even a bookstore dedicated to checkers will not have 3 billion books. Anyone from anywhere at any time can access most of these websites for free. There is no concept such as borrowed or sold out. Most of these websites are updated regularly and will contain the newest pieces of information. People can also access all this information while seating on their couch or even while watching their favorite show. It also makes it easier for people with disabilities who can't walk or drive to the library or bookstore. It also makes it easier for teammates to work together because they can contact easier using the Internet.
There are some disadvantages to researching on the Internet. There is a lot of information available on the internet. This also means that there will be some fake information on the internet. All the information may not be true or updated. It is also easy to unconsciously copy off the article when people are just trying to paraphrase. It could be also hard to cite all these sources especially if a person has a lot of citations. Most of the information from the internet is also not formatted or organized properly, making it hard to read it. A lot of information from the internet is also usually biased and not trustworthy. Authors could easily make up fake information to fool the readers.
