How can we ensure cars are safe, reliable, and beneficial for society as a whole?

Every household in America has around 2 cars per household. So a lot of people own automobiles. Discuss the ethical challenges and opportunities associated with the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles. How can we ensure that these technologies are safe, reliable, and beneficial for society as a whole?

Well, I think automobiles are opportunities for people to get a job. There are a lot of jobs required for manufacturing and distributing cars. Firstly, there have to be some people monitoring the car factory. Although lots of people have been replaced by robots in car manufacturing, there are still people who need to monitor and fix these robots. And then truck drivers would have to drive it to the car store. Some dealers would have to also sell them, this generates a lot of economic activity and help the economy grow. Without cars, millions of people would lose their jobs, there would be fewer economic activities. But it's not just employees in the car business who would lose their job. Some people who live far away from their job would also be forced to quit. Cars also gave freedom for people to travel anywhere they would like. Without cars, people would travel less, making cities earn less from tourism. But 46,000 people die from car accidents every year, without cars, this would reduce. And 46,000 people would be alive, making contributions to society. It is also one of the main emissions of carbon dioxide. This harms the environment and pollutes the air which forms clouds and is brought to water by precipitation. Cars are also very expensive, this money can be used somewhere else where it needs it. The renewable industry can be the solution to cars and fossil fuels, but more money goes to the car industry than renewable energies. Cars are known to malfunction since machines can't be perfect. This makes cars not reliable and dangerous, and although more investment in cars can solve it, there are other industries that need funding, unlike the car industry.
