Well, I think that voting should not be compulsory for all citizens. The first reason is that it is their choice if they want to vote or not, if they are not interested in politics, who cares? And if people force people who are not interested in politics, it is most likely that they will vote on just some random candidate or listen to their friends. And this would not be an actually fair election. Another reason is that voting is right, it is not a forced thing. It's just there if you want to do it. You may ask if no one would really vote in the future since younger people tend to not be interested in politics. But even if just 1000 people vote, that's still a fair election. And there's a very low chance that less than 10,000 people will vote in the election.
But I also want to present the opposition's opinion, yes it should be compulsory. The first reason is that voting means keeping the country democratic. It means that you are participating and choosing your own leader. It shows that citizens like this idea and would like that idea to be represented and set to action. And by forcing people to vote, it could actually increase the interest in politics, meaning more and more people would participate, this would mean better rules and better leaders running the state or the country. It would increase the quality of the life of most people if this act was carried out worldwide.
To sum up all the pieces of information, it would be very important to keep a right right. It should be a choice because if they are not interested in politics, why should they even vote? It would be good for them to be able to make their own choice. And if they are required to vote, it is most likely that they will just cut corners and do it half-heartedly. This would be just plain bad for people in the country or state. And those people could actually get paid to vote someone they want.
