Hi! Do you think maybe people aren't following the speed limit on highways or on roads? Well, today's topic is "Driving speed limits should be lifted in areas with a low accident risk."
I think that it should never be lifted or increased because it would be just safe to set them low and that is probably why there aren't a lot of accidents in that area. So by increasing the speed limit, there would be more and more accident risk and possibly more car accidents. And I don't mind lifting the speed limit if the speed limit is ridiculously small or there were just 5 to 10 minor accidents, I think it would be pretty necessary to increase or lift the speed limits. But car accidents are a serious problem, and if a single-car accident happens, lots of people can pass away or get injured seriously. So it would be good to stay safe and not increase the speed limit just because there is a low accident risk. And even if they do it and a big accident happens in 3 months, the government can get into a lawsuit with families who got injured.
But would it really be safer to not lift the speed limit? Well, I definitely disagree because if a speed limit is too low, the flow of the road could be broken, which could actually cause more accidents than most people think. So if it is safe enough to increase the speed limit, I think they should. But I don't mean that they should increase the speed limit until there are enough car accidents. I think they should add 5 to 15 according to how many accidents happened the previous year or how safe it is.
To sum up all the important pieces of information from this kind of essay, I think that it would be good to not lift or increase the accident risk because it would be good to be safe than sorry. And nobody would like to be sued because the government increased or lifted the speed limits. But it would be one hundred percent ridiculous if the government or officials it didn't increase the speed limit when it is ridiculous. And maybe they should do it because it could actually lower the possibility of accidents.
