Hi! Can you vote in the presidential election? Well, today's topic is "Is our election process fair?".
I won't be able to answer this question without knowing what they mean by us. But since this is in English, I will infer that they are representing the United States of America or the USA's election system. I think they are fair enough for most states.
Most of the states have similar counts of votes except states with only 3 votes or the big three, California, Texas, and Florida. And this wouldn't matter much because they are based on the population, I'm pretty sure. Maybe it isn't the most efficient way but it is surely fair. But it is fair if we see from the perspective of BIG states or states with a lot or enough votes. Let's turn our perspective to the District of Columbia. They only have 3 electoral votes. That wouldn't make a big difference nor that would be fair. California has 55! And we only have 3 votes. That is about 18 times more than us. Is that fair in any way? I wouldn't say that. It is totally and perfectly unfair for states with less population!
But even though it isn't about the topic let's talk briefly about efficiency. It would be very hard for kids or some adults to understand how the US election works. It is definitely not the easiest way to learn. So my suggestion would be to just do it like most other countries, just count the votes. It would be way easier and better to understand it this way than to make it very complicated. And it would be way fairer than it was before. even for states with fewer populations, at least one person could know that their votes would really count.
to sum up all the species of information presented in this passage, I think it is fair from the perspective of big states, but it wouldn't be so fair for small states. And it would be way better for kids and some adults to understand if citizens could just vote directly and they could also know that one of their votes would be counted even if they live in small states.
