Hi! Firstly, happy Earth day! Have a tremendously environmentally-fun day! Anyway, I shape a question for you, do you work from home? Well, today's topic is "Working from home is good for the environment.".
Well. I think it actually does. The first reason is that lots of people actually use cars to go to their work. And it will probably leave carbon footprints and if about 1.75 billion people (the world's population is about 7.7 billion and divide that by four is about 1.75 billion) were driving cars, it could leave a serious impact on the Earth. You can say that it is just driving for a few minutes, but if you think about the whole world, it would be an enormous and tremendous amount of greenhouse gas. But if you think about it, it is pretty obvious that working from home would leave more impact on Earth.
It is like public transportation, if 10 employees were using air conditioners, it would be better to have them in one building and use it for only one air conditioner instead of using 10 separate air conditioners for no real reason. And that is not just it, people will have to use light and other electronics. But just imagine and think about it. 10 employees using other kinds of electronics and separate buildings and turning on their lights. It would leave a pretty big impact on the Earth they did it. And it is NOT JUST a few minutes! It is a few hours, and if I could choose I will say that it is way better to just ride in the car for a few minutes and not waste a few hours. That would be pretty sad and wasteful. And they could do some events in their office, they could take some time off of electronics and do some outdoor exercises and it could really help to save the Earth.
To sum up all the pieces of information, it would be wasteful for tons of people in the world to drive to work, but some of them ride bikes or use public transportation. And it would more way more wasteful to use electronics separately for everyone. And if they go to office, they could sometimes do some outdoor events and save the earth.
