Hi! Do you live in a safe place with lots of public cameras? Well, today's topic is "Are public cameras ethical?". What do you think? Well, I think that they are if they are not used for crime or bad things...
I think lots of you guys would know that a public camera or CCTV is used to keep people and you safe. They can help catch criminals that can and probably will hurt more people. It can also help police and your family find you if you are kidnapped. It can probably help stop criminal acts and their activity because criminals know that they are most likely to get caught if they commit a crime in front of a public camera. It can also help police track criminals and if lucky, they can see their real identity.
But the thing is that security cameras and public cameras can all be hacked unless they are really well secured. It means that the footage could be harmed, deleted, or changed(edited) to put the innocent person or people in jail or worse. Hackers can also use it to get personal pieces of information and demand money. It is also dangerous because literally everyone is being pictured without any permission nor most CCTV, security cameras, and public cameras are secured well and are safe from hacker attacks.
So what is the solution? It is not like there is a thing or new invention that could replace it. But there is a way to fix it, people can probably upgrade their CCTV and security camera. It would be way safer and not dangerous.
So what do I think? I think it is ethical. There is more advantage than disadvantage. And the thing is that there aren't lots of hacker attacks on security cameras or public cameras. It would also be more dangerous because if there was a security camera, only hackers could commit crimes. But without cameras and CCTV, all kinds of criminals could commit crimes. Not just hackers.
That is all, and the conclusion is that CCTV, security cameras, public cameras keep us safe. Even though they could be hacked by hackers, it keeps us safe from other kinds of criminals.
