Hi! Do you know anything about the ocean? Well, today's topic is "Describe five great things about the ocean.".
The first great thing about the ocean is that we get most kinds of seafood from the ocean. Well, why? Because the ocean is so enormous that it takes the most surface of the Earth, and if we say that one creature lives in twenty cubic centimeters, most creatures would live in the ocean. There are so many marine animals, that we only know 3% of marine animals. And other 97% of them, we don't know a single fact about them. So, some people even get from the ocean for their whole life. I just thought that it was cool that most creatures are from the ocean. Peekaboo Kidz said that 97% of creatures on Earth are from the ocean.
The second great thing about the ocean is that it is where life started. From what I know, the first creature on the Earth was a cell living in the ocean. And after millions and millions of years, they finally got to the land. I think it was cool because they took millions of years to go to the land. And I was wondering if it would take the same amount of time to go to the ocean if they started on land.
The third great thing is that they are one of the most powerful forces when it comes to eroding and weathering things. Have you seen any cool pictures of rocks in weird shapes in the ocean? Well, they were formed by wind, but they wouldn't have been able to do it without the ocean. Waves weathered away the rocks so that it wouldn't be an island anymore, but just a piece of rock. And wind made it look weird.
The fourth thing is that most trade happens through the ocean. Like you know those trade ships? Well, they were invented way before other transportations did. This means that we need these trade ships more than other trade transportation.
The fifth thing is that there are lots of minerals under the sea. This is really cool because if we invent some kind of machine that would help us mine things even from a very deep ocean. That means we could get a lot of resources that will help.
