People who learn English as a second language know English grammar better than most Americans

Hi! Do you know a lot about English grammar? If so, are you native or is English your second language? Today's topic is "People who learn English as a second language know English grammar better than most Americans" Let's hop right into it.

First I think people who learn English as a second language are better because when you learn from a native, you learn from your father, mother or person that's close to you. And they can be wrong, but when people learn English as their second language, they learn from professional teachers, usually. Also, people that are natives don't really care about their mistakes and they aren't extra careful, unlike people who learn English as a second language, they are extra careful about spellings, capitalization errors, commas, and punctuations. And I learned English as a second language, I am a better speller than most of my friends. And I have been getting pretty good grades in writing. So that is a piece of evidence. Most natives would be better with accents and all. But I think people who learn English as a second language are better at grammar.

Secondly, let's talk about why native people would be better at grammar. Simple, because they lived in this county and spoke the same language for their lifetime. So they should know much better than just people that learned a few years of English. So they must be better at spelling words, commas, right punctuations, building sentences, and more. Also, it is really basic and straightforward that people that had used the same languages for their life would be way better than just people who learned it. Maybe some people can be better, but it is not likely that most people would be better than native people. It is just the same for every language in the world, Latin to Korean. Also, if you have not learned the grammar from school for about 20 years in school as natives did, it is hard to be better at them unless they really hated grammar and didn't pay attention.
