Should driving while talking on a hand-held cellular phone be banned?

 Do you think states should allow texting while driving? Most of you probably have said no, but why not? Some states have now made it illegal to drive while talking on a hand-held cellular phone. Do you think this is a good law that should be passed in other states as well? Why or why not? Explain your answer.

I think they should ban driving while talking on a hand-held cellular phone. Although it could be safe since it's only talking. But it can still cause some problems since people could be focused on their phones instead of driving. There are too many risks, and if a city could save one life, they should do it. Texting while driving is illegal in most states in the USA. Police would have no way of knowing if a driver was calling or texting. People could get away from punishment when they use an excuse like "I was calling a friend", or something like that. Reaction time is way slower when you are focused on something else. Like you could be focused on listening to whatever the caller is trying to say. Calling and driving doesn't only harm the driver but also the passenger and the other people in cars. These people can also easily stop the car somewhere else and call someone. This would not take that long and would save the lives of themselves and others. 

Calling and driving should not be illegal or banned. Unlike texting and driving, calling and driving would be only listening and talking which aren't the senses required in driving. You would only need to feel touch and see to drive not listen or drive. Especially since you can't listen to sounds outside the car. Also, an experienced cop would easily be able to see if a person is texting or calling. Texting a person's eye would be on the phone, even if they were calling they should be punished for this. They are not focusing on the roads, instead, they are focusing on the roads. Although a law should be specified, calling and driving should not be banned. It would be unfair to people who have to call quickly while moving or to truck drivers who want to meet their family as quick as possible.
