Hello! How are you doing? Do you have a child? If so, do you think it's beneficial for them to watch television? Well, today's essay or discussion topic is "Is watching TV good or bad for children?"
Well, I think that watching tv isn't good for children. The first reason is that when children watch television, it is almost 80% for fun. And most of them will watch cartoons, not educational shows are news. This won't help them in any way, and watching too much television can cause anxiety, and dramatically increase the risk of obesity. Also, it is most likely that they will get in habit of procrastinating and not having self-discipline. As I said before, this will not help them instead, it will spoil them and make them lazy. To poor families, watching television means more energy fees, this isn't good for them because they are literally wasting their money on just letting their child watch tv shows. There had been also research that it worsens language development, reading skills, and short-term memory. Watching too much television can also cause problems with attention. And it can also increase the risk of insomnia.
But there are other opinions too. Like the one that I'm gonna introduce now, that watching television is actually good for children. The first reason is that it could help with their language development. What do I mean? Well, most of the tv shows would talk, and it would help with children's pronunciation. It could also help them develop their grammar rules, too. Watching television could also help children learn about real life like the economy, the stock market, and more things.
To sum up, summarize or conclude this essay or selection, I think that watching television is bad for children because it doesn't help them. It just makes them lazy, gives bad habits, and decreases their reading skills. But it can also help children because by watching television, they can learn real-life things like the stock, economy, and programming. But it is also waste of money to poor families.
