Hi! How are you doing? Well, do you think that television is for old-fashioned people? Well, today's topic is "Has the television become obsolete?"
So the definition of "obsolete" is "no longer produced or used; out of date." So, basically old things. I think that television isn't old or obsolete. The first reason is that televisions are still used a lot. About 122.4 million households own television just in the US during 2021 and 2022. And it is not like people don't watch television anymore. You can do hundreds of things on television, like watching youtube, and streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, disney+, etc), and browsing on the internet. It is very similar to phones and computers. And it is constantly getting better and better. I think television would be 3rd or 4th most used electronic. Phones and laptops are probably 1st and 2nd, but pads and televisions are used a similar amount. So if television is obsolete, so should a pad like an iPad. Another reason is that televisions are one of the first electronic. So, we know more about them and they are developed way more than other kinds of electronics. There are also apps solely built for tv. Unlike Netflix, which is available
But there are other opinions like that television has become obsolete. The first reason is that it has been almost a century since television was invented. I don't think that lots of young people watch television anymore. They probably watch TikTok or other social media, not television. This means that in about 50 years, only a few percentages of people could be watching television.
To sum up, conclude, or summarize all the pieces of information from this essay or selection, I think that it is not obsolete or outdated because about 122.4 million or 94% of the household has tv. But it is obsolete because not a lot of young people watch television, and after the generation of people who watch television is gone, most people will not probably watch television. They will instead use social media.
