Hi! Good day to you, do you think most workers are mistreated in their workplace? Today's essay or discussion topic is "Workers should get four weeks of paid vacation each year."
Well, I will present two opinions on this topic, yes they should get four weeks of paid vacation and no, they shouldn't.
The first reason they should get four weeks of paid vacation is that since there is covid-19 or coronavirus, workers have to take some days off even if they don't want to. And it would be unfair for them to get cut on their wage even if they didn't want it. And if they don't do that, most of the workers would fake their health information and act like they are healthy. Another reason is that they deserve to have them, maybe four weeks is too much but workers deserve to get enough paid vacation. And there are numerous reasons that a worker may use paid vacation, like a holiday or personal time, sick, leaving early, or sometimes on federal holidays. And to some, four weeks may not even be enough! That would mean that they are not working 1/12 time of the year, but would it be really fair for them to work 11/12 of a year? Maybe they deserve more.
But there are other opinions too, which is that they should not get four weeks of paid vacation each year. The first reason is that four weeks is a lot. And if a company has 100 workers and their weekly pay is $1000, it is a loss of $400, 000. This is a huge amount for a company that only has 100 workers. I don't agree that there should not be paid vacations. But I think it could be something like two weeks of paid vacation and two weeks of a normal vacation. It would be fair for the company and workers because they anyway get 4 weeks of vacation.
To conclude or sum up all the important pieces of information from this selection or essay, I think workers should at least get three weeks of paid vacation because there are tons of ways that workers may use a paid vacation. And it wouldn't be fair for them to work when they are sick or want a vacation. But an opposing opinion was that it is too big of loss for company and it is not fair.
