Hi! Do you own an electric car or do you know anyone that owns one? Well, today's topic is "Should the government give tax exemptions to those who drive electric or hybrid vehicles?"
Well, I think that they should. The first reason is that they are helping to stop or slow down global warming and should be rewarded for it. Well, how much would be enough? Well, I think 10% would be fine. And they shouldn't give tax exemptions to people with 2 cars under their name that say that they have carbon cars because rich people can buy a cheap electric car to reduce their tax and never use it. Also, it would be fair to reduce the tax for buying an electric car. But people could argue that there would be too less tax for the government, but electric cars use electricity and when they fuel them they pay tax, and if there are more people using an electric car to save tax, there would be more tax. But wouldn't that be the same as gasoline? Well, no, because they have to build a new gas station for electric cars and that would give the government some money since the commercial company would probably build it. And more people will probably buy electric cars and it would be good for car companies and the environment and it would help stop global warming.
Well, I actually have an opposing opinion which is that they shouldn't give tax exemptions to people that own electric and hybrid vehicles. One of the reasons is that cars are expensive, so the government gets a lot from taxes. And it is 860.1 million dollars. And if they got 10% of tax exemptions, that would be 774,090,000 dollars, which is 86 million dollars less.
To sum up all the important pieces of information from this selection, I think that it would be good to give tax exemptions because it would be good for everyone except carbon car companies. It would be good for electric car companies, environment, and goverment because they want more electric cars. And it would be also good for lots of people because they won't have to buy a new car for a while.
