Hi! Do you like using single-use plastic? Well, I don't but today's topic is "By banning single-use plastics people may save oceans from further pollution" Let's start.
I think banning single-use plastics, could actually save oceans. The first reason is that many plastics take a long time to break down completely. Even if broken down a little, it becomes smaller plastic. And animals will eat them because they are often be mistaken for prey or plants. And here is an important key point. Why do we have to save animals from eating plastic? Because we eat them! So we are literally eating plastic when we eat fish that ate plastic. And when a single fish species' population decreases or extinct, a whole ecosystem is in danger. Why? Let's say that shark has gone extinct. Then, fish that sharks used to eat would increase, and fish or other animals that had eaten sharks would decrease. And it would cause several complicated chain reactions. And even we, humans could go extinct if the ecosystem is hugely damaged.
The second reason is that animals that live in the marine ecosystems lived happily for thousands and thousands of years. But we appeared and disturbed or messed their life. Some of them had gone extinct. So why are we doing it? We could still live without hurting fish, sharks, whales, and corals. Think about it, we were living happily when giants came and they dump trashes on our property, they sometimes eat us and hunt us. Is that a happy life? Would we want our life back to how it was? I think I would want our life back and that would not be a happy life. So that is happening to many animals. And that's not good, we should let them live their life. Just because we are bigger and smarter doesn't mean we could just hurt animals. And if we keep using plastics, Earth would not be the same place as before. So we should really try to Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce. So just follow those three and you are saving the earth from the bad pollution.
